Alexis Hornbuckle

Alexis Hornbuckle Kay'ree (born 16 October 1985 in Charleston, West Virginia, United States) is a professional basketball player. She currently plays for the Detroit Shock in the Women's National Basketball Association.

Career

College

Alexis Hornbuckle played from 2005 to 2008 for the Tennessee Lady Volunteers, the women's basketball team at the University of Tennessee. Already in her first season for the Lady Volunteers, she was elected to the All- SEC Freshmen Team. In 2007 she was elected to the All- SEC First Team and SEC All- Tournament team. Horbuckle played in the four years of college on the side of Candace Parker with which they could the NCAA Women's Division I Basketball Tournament win in 2007 and 2008.

Women's National Basketball Association

Alexis Hornbuckle was selected in the WNBA Draft in 2008 by the Detroit Shock in the fourth position. The 2008 season is their first season in the WNBA.
