Alfred P. Sloan, Jr. Prize

The Alfred P. Sloan, Jr. Prize was a Research Prize, which was awarded 1979-2005 by the General Motors Cancer Research Foundation for outstanding achievements in basic oncological research. Named after Alfred P. Sloan prize was endowed with $ 250,000.

Due to economic difficulties, the parent company the award of the Alfred P. Sloan, Jr. Prize in 2005 was set - as well as that of the Kettering Prize and the Charles S. Mott Prize. Instead of these three Awards 2006 General Motors Cancer Research Award was presented under the name of only one - also doped with $ 250,000 - awarded prize, winners was Napoleone Ferrara.
