Allakaye (also: Allakèye ) is a rural municipality in the department of Bouza in Niger.

Geography

Allakaye lies in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Garhanga in the north, Déoulé in the northeast, southeast and Tama Badaguichiri in the West. The municipality is divided into 37 administrative villages and 29 hamlets. The main town of the rural community is Allakaye consisting Allakaye of the administrative villages Gabass and Allakaye Yamma.

History

The rural community Allakaye went as an administrative unit 2002 through the course of a nationwide administrative reform from the northwestern part of the canton Bouza.

Population

At the 2001 census Allakaye had 53 556 inhabitants. For the year 2010 72.162 inhabitants were calculated.

Policy

In the local elections in July 2004 Mamane Aboucar ( PNDS - Tarayya ) was elected mayor.

Economy and infrastructure

The municipality is located in a zone is operated in the rain-fed agriculture.
