Tama (Niger)

Tama is a rural municipality in the department of Bouza in Niger.
Geography
Tama is located in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Allakaye the northwest, Déoulé in the northeast, Bouza and Azarori in the southeast and Galma Koudawatché and Doguérawa in the southwest. The municipality is divided into 27 administrative villages, 20 hamlets and two camps. History
The rural community of Tama was created as an administrative unit in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform from the southwestern part of the canton Bouza.
Population
At the 2001 census, Tama had 36,223 inhabitants. For the year 2010 49.729 inhabitants were calculated.
Policy
In the local elections in July 2004, Abubakar Amadou ( PNDS - Tarayya ) was elected mayor.
Economy and infrastructure
The community is located mainly in an area is operated in the rain-fed agriculture. In the south zone of the irrigation field economy begins.
