Babankatami

Babankatami (also: Baban Katami ) is a rural municipality in the department of Bouza in Niger.
Geography
Babankatami lies in the Sahel. The neighboring municipalities are Azèye in the north, Birni LaLLe in the northeast, Adjékoria the southeast, Karofane in the south, Bouza in the southwest and Tabotaki in the West. The municipality is divided into 41 administrative villages, 54 hamlets and two camps. The main town of the rural community is Babankatami.
History
The rural community Babankatami originated as an administrative unit in 2002 as part of a nationwide administrative reform from the northeastern part of the canton Bouza.
Population
At the 2001 census Babankatami had 38 479 inhabitants. For the year 2010 51.848 inhabitants were calculated.
Economy and infrastructure
The municipality is located in a zone is operated in the rain-fed agriculture.
