Bouza

Region

Bouza is a town and the capital of the eponymous department Bouza in Niger.

Geography

The center of the old town in the Sahel is located on a hill. In the valley in front of the city center there are several Hausa villages. The city is divided into five district - Bouza ( Gabass ), Bouza Koré, Dan Dabi, Ikarkassan and Tsakar Guida - as well as administrative in 40 villages, 53 hamlets and two camps divided. The neighboring municipalities are Babankatami Bouzas, Déoulé and Tabotaki in the north, Karofane in the east, and Madaoua Azarori in the south and Tama in the west.

History

Bouza in 1960, the year of independence of Niger, the main town of the district Bouza, from 1964, the arrondissement Bouza Bouza and 1998 the department emerged.

Population

Economy and infrastructure

The city is located on the National Road 16, which connects the village to the regional capital of Tahoua.
