Allen Vizzutti

Allen Vizzutti (* September 13, 1952 in Missoula, Montana ) is an American trumpeter, composer and music educator.

Life

Vizzutti Trumpet learned the game from his father Lido Vizzutti. He completed his studies with a Bachelor of Music, Master of Music and instrumental musicians, and he was so far the only player of a wind instrument, the Artist's Diploma from Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York.

Allen Vizzuti plays both classical music and jazz, and worked with a variety of artists together, including Chick Corea, Chuck Mangione, Doc Severinsen, Frank Sinatra, Prince, The Commodores, Woody Herman. As a soloist he has performed at the Hollywood Bowl, Carnegie Hall, at the Newport Jazz Festival, Banff Center for the Performing Arts, Montreux Jazz Festival, the Charles Ives Center and Lincoln Center in New York.

Vizzutti has participated in the recording of more than 100 film scores with, including Back to the Future, Star Trek, Rocky II, Poltergeist II - The Other Side, Fire Fox, Dirty Harry comes back, Ten - The dream woman, Broadcast News - Broadcast News, The electric Horseman and 1941 - Which way leads to Hollywood.

He is also the composer of numerous orchestral works that were premiered band among others from the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra, Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, Greater Bridgeport Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Tonight Show. Vizzutti is a professor of trumpet at the University of Washington School of Music. He also taught at the Eastman School of Music, the Banff Center for the Performing Arts, Kansas State University, West Texas State University, the Skidmore Jazz Institute, and the trumpets Academy Bremen in Germany. He regularly works as a lecturer at the American Band College of Southern Oregon University.

Vizzutti is a composer and a member of the Ars Nova Press, Inc., a non-profit publishing house, which has set itself the goal of promoting high-quality compositions by contemporary composers.

The Allen Vizzutti Trumpet Method is an internationally disseminated educational approach for learning the trumpet playing. Many of Vizzuttis Publications of jazz and classical music, play-along recordings, works for music students, chamber music and lecture works published by the music publishers Alfred, Southern Music Company, and DeHaske / Hal Leonard Publications. He designed and implemented the instructional video "Steps to Excellence" for the Yamaha Corporation of America.
