Allied Air Command Ramstein

The Allied Air Command Ramstein, short AC Ramstein (Air ) is a NATO command authority for the guidance of air forces. It is stationed with his headquarters at Ramstein Air Base, in Rhineland -Palatinate and is subordinate to the JFC Brunssum.

History

On June 28, 1974, the Allied Air Forces Central Europe ( AAFCE ) were set up under the leadership of the Allied Forces Central Europe ( AFCENT ). Participating nations were Belgium, Germany, Canada, the Netherlands, the United kingdom and the United States of America. The AAFCE were under the 2nd Allied Tactical Air Force ( 2ATAF ) in Mönchengladbach, responsible for NATO air forces in the north, and the 4th Allied Tactical Air Force ( 4ATAF ) in Ramstein, responsible for the associations in the southern area of the Central Region.

Since 1 March 2010 the Headquarters Allied Air Command Ramstein (HQ AC Ramstein ) existed in its present structure.

Tasks

The AC Ramstein is a headquarters of the NATO command structure at the tactical level, which is the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum downstream. The Commander AC Ramstein advises the commander of the Joint Force Command Brunssum regarding air operations and in Outer Space Affairs. Organization

The Commander AC Ramstein is an American four- star general, who is also Commander United States Air Forces in Europe and Director Joint Air Power Competence Centre. He is supported by an international staff. Report to him in Denmark, the Combined Air Operations Centre ( CAOC ) Uedem in Germany and the CAOC Finderup.

The post of his deputy is occupied alternately in 2013 by a French and a British three- star general.
