Old Rehse is a village and district of the city on the western shore of the Penzlin Tollense in the district Mecklenburg Lake District Mecklenburg -Vorpommern ( Germany ).

Geography

The district of the district borders the municipalities Kuckssee, Wulkenzin, Hohenzieritz, the city Penzlin and the county town of Neubrandenburg.

Past and present

The place is of Slavic origin, lived here after deduction of the Germanic inhabitants in the barbarian invasions, medieval tribes of Redarier and Toll Enser of the tribe Association of Wilzen, which were later incorporated in the Liutizenbund. Rehse could be derived from the old Slavic language and means something like " place by the water" mean.

Old Rehse 1182 as " reze " in a confirmation charter of Pomerania Duke Bogislaw I. for possessions of the monastery Broda first mentioned. Whether it was located above at a place called " michnin " ( 1170 ), " Michninow " ( 1244) and " Me Nino " ( 1328 ) in partially falsified documents to concerned Alt Rehse or to another village, is not with reasonable certainty be determined. Old Rehse initially belonged to the Premonstratensian Broda before then 22 different owners had the location on Tollensee village. Also worth mentioning are:

Initially, the plant of the NVA leadership served for recreational purposes. The terrain was fenced and guarded by a Torposten. In the 1970s, even civilians could enter the object unmolested. From the early 1980s, the security measures were tightened and extended the object for establishing semi- subterranean buildings on a south adjacent coupling surface. From 1978 to 1982 bunkers were built by the NVA, the ( Neubrandenburg ) should be used for the land forces of the NVA as implementing agency of the Military District V.

1990 pulled the Bundeswehr as an assignee of the NVA in the park and bunker area, but left it in 1998., The Federal Office of Administration has found for the 65 -acre property a buyer who had first passed it to the two brothers Wallner.

With a group of people from all over Germany the project " Tollense Life Park " was founded as a community on the site. In this context, the unused since 1998 buildings were taken step by step as a conference center again. (As of 2013).

Priorities of the community was self-sufficiency and welfare economics, as well as unconditional basic income after the Munich model, the latter was far only theory. On January 26, 2014 then came through foreclosure date and rescission of the purchase contract from for the still remaining residents. Currently trying an investor from Bavaria with the help of a group of former members of the community, the lake breathe new life into the park.

Old Rehse took as several county and state winners at the national competition " Our village is beautiful " part and won a bronze medal in 1995.

Old Rehse belongs to their incorporation together with the associated village Wustrow since 1 July 2008, the city Penzlin. The last mayor was Martin Aug.

Policy

From 1994 to 2001, the veterinarian, local historian and writer Dr. Wolfgang Koepp was mayor of Old Rehse.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms was approved on 1 April 1997 by the Home Office and registered under No. 122 of the coat of arms role of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Blazon: " Over blue Wellenschildfuß, is a silver fish, split; front in gold, a red front gable of a half-timbered house with two windows; golden rear in red three (1:2) lime leaves. "

Economy

Old Rehse is a popular destination for tourism due to the scenic location on Tollensee.
