Altona North, Victoria

Altona North is a suburb of Melbourne in Australia, 9 km south-west of the city center of Melbourne. Its Local Government Area is Hobsons Bay. At the 2006 census, the population was found to be 10,866.

History

The post office in Altona North was opened on 11 April 1960, when the city developed an independent village. In 1966, the post office in Beevers was renamed as a new post office Altona North Duke Street south of opened old. 1986 replaced the post office Altona Gate post office Beevers.

Industry

In Altona North is one of the only two oil refineries located in Victoria. It is one of ExxonMobil.
