Andelarre

Andelarre is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Andelarre situated at an altitude of 314 m above sea level, about 5 km southwest of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the central part of the department, in a valley in the rolling countryside stretching to the south between the valleys of the Saone in the northwest and Ognon.

The area of ​​4.57 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the area hills east of Saônebeckens. The central part of the area occupied by the valley of Andelarre, which is on average 310 m. It has a width of about 1.5 kilometers and is oriented southwest-northeast direction. Here predominant agricultural use, while the surrounding hills are mostly covered with forest. In the east the valley from the hill of Bois de la Cote is flanked ( to 400 m). To the west, the municipality's area extends to the ridge of the Bois de Noidans and the Côte d' Andelarre, on the 427 meters, the highest elevation is achieved by Andelarre. The hilly area consists of limestone of the middle Jurassic period. On the whole municipality there are no surface watercourses, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground.

Neighboring communities of Andelarre are Chariez and Noidans -lès- Vesoul in the north, Andelarrot the east and south, as well as Mont -le- Vernois in the West.

History

Is first mentioned in the year Andelarre 1225th In the Middle Ages the village belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. Property and rights owned by the Bishop of Besançon and the Lords of Faucogney. Later Andelarre formed its own government, which was in 1770 raised to the Marquisat. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. To a field change occurred in 1806, when the neighboring community Andelarrot merged with Andelarre. 1823 Andelarrot got its independence back. Today Andelarre is a member of the 19 localities comprehensive community association Communauté de communes de l' agglomà de Vesoul.

Attractions

The village church of Andelarre dates from the 17th century and includes a statue of the Madonna of walnut wood (15th century). The Château d' Andelarre increased slightly north of the village, Baron Jules d' Andelarre built in the 19th century.

Population

With 119 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Andelarre one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886, 124 people were still counted ), a strong population growth was recorded during the 1970s. Since then, however, the trend is slightly down again.

Economy and infrastructure

Andelarre is still a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in town. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns of the agglomeration Vesoul.

The village has good transport links. It is located near the main road N57, which runs from Vesoul to Besançon. Further road links exist with Gray, Andelarrot, Mont -le- Vernois and Chariez.
