Andelarrot

Andelarrot is a commune in Haute -Saône in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Andelarrot situated at an altitude of 322 m above sea level, about 6 km southwest of Vesoul (air line). The village is located in the central part of the department, in a valley in the rolling countryside stretching to the south between the valleys of the Saone in the northwest and Ognon.

The area of ​​5.71 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the area hills east of Saônebeckens. The central part of the area occupied by the valley of Andelarre, which is on average 310 m. It has a width of about 1.5 kilometers and is oriented southwest-northeast direction. Here predominant agricultural use, while the surrounding hills are mostly covered with forest. Flanked the valley to the west of the Côte d' Andelarre ( up to 420 m ), to the east of the Bois de la Craye ( 382 m ) and the height of the Bois de la Cote, on the 431 meters, the highest elevation of Andelarrot is achieved. With another dump, the municipality's area extends eastward to the Grand Bois de Vellefaux. The hilly area consists of limestone of the middle Jurassic period. On the whole municipality there are no surface watercourses, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground.

Neighboring communities of Andelarrot are Andelarre and Noidans -lès- Vesoul in the north, Échenoz la Méline and Vellefaux in the east, Velleguindry -et- Levrecey in the south and Velle -le- Châtel and Mont -le- Vernois in the West.

History

In the Middle Ages Andelarrot belonged to the Free County of Burgundy and in the territory of the Bailliage d' amont. The village was under the rule Andelarre and shared their fate. Together with the Franche -Comté Andelarrot came with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 definitively to France. To a field change occurred in 1806, when Andelarrot was incorporated into Andelarre. Already in 1823 it got its independence but back again. Today Andelarrot is a member of the 19 localities comprehensive community association Communauté de communes de l' agglomà de Vesoul.

Attractions

From the 19th century comes the neo-Gothic chapel, which has a statue of the Madonna from the 17th century.

Population

With 237 inhabitants ( 1 January 2011) Andelarrot one of the small towns in the Haute- Saône. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1886 196 people were still counted ), was from 1975 to 1990 and again since 2000 recorded a population growth.

Economy and infrastructure

Andelarrot is still a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in town. Many workers are therefore commuters who do their work in the larger towns of the agglomeration Vesoul.

The village has good transport links. It is located near the main road N57, which runs from Vesoul to Besançon. Further road links exist with Gray, Andelarre and Velleguindry.
