André-Jacques Marie

André- Jacques Marie ( born October 14, 1925) is a former French athlete who in 1950 was European champion in the 110- meter hurdles.

Marie started at the European Championships 1946 in Oslo, in 15.0 seconds, he missed his fourth forward travel almost the final. Two years later he won at the 1948 Olympic Games in London his heat in 14.9 seconds, but crashed in his semifinal.

At the European Championships in Brussels in 1950 Marie won his heat in 14.6 seconds ahead of Sweden's Ragnar Lundberg in 14.7 seconds; third place this forward travel of the Belgians pole Braekman, the third fastest time of all heats ran in 14.9 seconds, but came to the finals, only the top two teams of each forward playback. In the final, Marie won the European title in 14.6 seconds before Lundberg in 14.7 seconds and the Briton Peter Hildreth in 15.0 seconds.

Overall, André- Jacques Marie stepped 1946-1951 in 27 competitions in the hurdles for France at, of which he won 15; once he entered additionally in the season. Marie started throughout his career for UAI Paris. At a height of 1.89 m his competition weight was 77 kg.
