Andy Turner (athlete)

Andrew Turner ( Steven Malcolm Andrew "Andy" Turner, born 19 September 1980 in Chelmsford ) is a British hurdler who specializes in the 110- meter track.

At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he was eliminated in the flow. In 2006 he won the bronze medal in both the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, where he started for England, as well as at the European Athletics Championships in Gothenburg.

In 2007, he was fourth on 60 m hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Birmingham and reached at the World Championships in Osaka the semifinals. At the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 he reached the quarter-finals. The following year he was again at the European Indoor Championships in Turin and was eliminated in fourth at the World Championships in Berlin in the flow.

In 2010 he won the gold medal at both the European Championships in Barcelona as well as at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi.

Andrew Turner is coached by Lloyd Cowan and starts for Sale Harriers Manchester. In his youth he played before joining the Athletics in the football club Notts County.
