Andrest

Andrest is a commune with 1421 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Hautes -Pyrénées in the Midi-Pyrénées region. It is located in the Arrondissement of Tarbes, in the canton Vic -en- Bigorre.

Geography

Andrest covers 6.19 square kilometers and is located about ten kilometers north of Tarbes in the Bigorre 2.5 km west of the Adour and about 2.5 kilometers east of echez. Through the municipal area leads the former Route nationale 135

History

Archaeological finds from the Neolithic Age and the Gallo- Roman period are available. In the north- east of the village itself, built in the 10th century Motte Fossoyée is.
