Angeja is a comune ( freguesia ) in a circle ( concelho ) Albergaria -a- Velha. It is 21.3 km ² and has 2068 inhabitants (as at 30 June 2011).
History
Since the 12th century it is documented. 1514 received city rights Angeja ( Foral ) by King Manuel I. Until 1855 Angeja headquarters of an independent circuit ( concelho ) to since then to belong to Albergaria- a-Velha.
On 20 June 1991 Angeja was raised to the small town ( Vila ).
