Angela Franke

Angela Franke ( born November 18, 1957 in Magdeburg ) is a German former swimmer who competed for East Germany.

Their first success they achieved on the location path. In this discipline, they also participated in the 1972 Olympics in Munich, but could not reach the finals there. As the world record holder over 400 meters individual medley, she started at the first World Swimming Championships 1973 in Belgrade and was beaten there by her compatriot Gudrun Wegner and became Vice World Champion. A year later she won the 100m freestyle relay at the European Championships in Vienna gold over 400 meters freestyle and the 4 ×.
