Anita Nyman

Anita Birgitta Hakala (* as Anita Nyman on September 15, 1971 in Forssa, Finland) is a Finnish cross-country skier and biathlete.

Anita Hakala - Nyman began her career as a cross country skier at the club Forssan Salama her hometown and then started for Hollolan Urheilijat -46, she was also active for Ahveniston Ampumahiihtäjät. My first race in the Cross Country World Cup, she contested in 1993 in Lahti, where it was about 5 -kilometer freestyle 60. There followed alternately inserts in the World and Continental. In Hakuba she won as a 21 classic race over 5 km first World Cup points, a day later it was 17 over 10 km. This was also her best World Cup result. In Nagano it was used at the Olympic Winter Games 1998. After the season 1999/2000 she switched to biathlon.

Hakala played her first international race to kick off the 2001/02 season in Windischgarsten in Biathlon European Cup and was behind Katja Beer and Sabrina Buchholz third of a sprint. Shortly after, she made her debut in the Biathlon World Cup Hochfilzen. In the sprint she was 60, overtaken in the pursuit and with the Finnish relay with Sanna -Leena Peurunka, Outi Kettunen and Katja Holanti she came to ninth place. Peak of their first season was to participate in the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. In the sprint Hakala was 54, in pursuit, she was overtaken and with the season she was twelfth. In Ruhpolding Hakala 2004 won in a sprint than 26 first World Cup points. It was also their best ever World Cup result. In 2004 she appeared for the first time in at Biathlon World Championships. Best result was a 27th place in the pursuit here.
