Anna Krauja

Anna Chen (* as Anna Krauja November 10, 1981 in Riga) is a lyric soprano from Latvia.

Born and raised in Riga, Anna Krauja was named in 1993 in the Latvian National Theatre was the first Latvian child to Mini Miss International. During her performance, she sang a song of Latvian composer Imants Kalnins and received the Audience Award. This success encouraged them already in their childhood to become a singer.

Was educated Anna Krauja at the Latvian Academy of Music Jāzeps Vītols Latvijas muzikas Academia at Kristine Gailīte and at the Sibelius Academy in Marjut Hannula. In 2007, she appeared at the Latvian National Opera in the role of the opera Achille Deidamia under the conductor Māris Kupčs on. The Alexander Theatre Helsinki 2009, she played the role of Dalinda in the opera Ariodante under Markus Lehtinen. As a soloist, chamber musician and tutor them in 2009 was also a guest at the Beigang International Music Festival in Taiwan.

In addition to her classical singing career, she had a commitment in 2008 in the musical and played the role of the narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Riga Daile theater.

Anna Chen is married to the Austrian pianist Heinz Chen, with whom she also occur. The couple lives in Berlin.
