Anne Eleonore of Hesse-Darmstadt

Anna Eleonore of Hesse- Darmstadt ( born July 30, 1601 Darmstadt, † May 6, 1659 in Schloss Herzberg ), was Duchess and regent of Brunswick- Lüneburg.

Life

Anna Eleanor was a daughter of the Landgrave Louis V of Hesse-Darmstadt (1577-1626) from his marriage to Magdalena (1582-1616), daughter of the Elector Johann Georg of Brandenburg.

She married on 14 December 1617 in Darmstadt, later to become the Duke George of Brunswick and Lüneburg. The marriage, in which a multiplicity of princes in Darmstadt were present, was celebrated very complex. The marriage with Anna Eleonore had great influence on the policy of George Hesse war of houses in Darmstadt and Hessen- Kassel to Marburg.
