Anton Julian Ferdinand (born 18 February 1985 in Peckham ) is an English football player and former U-21 national team. He is the younger brother of England international Rio Ferdinand and a cousin of former Premier League player Les Ferdinand.

Playing career

The defender was on the opening day of the 2003/04 season against Preston North End debut in the Football League Championship, until 2008, he played for West Ham United in the Premier League. In the summer of 2008 he moved to Sunderland AFC. The transfer fee was about eight million pounds. On 31 August 2011, he joined the newly promoted Premier League Queens Park Rangers and signed a three-year contract.

On January 29, 2013 Ferdinand moved to end of the season on loan to the Turkish first division side Bursaspor.

National

His debut in the English U- 21 team was Ferdinand on 17 April 2004 against Ukraine and completed 17 games in which he scored a goal. An invitation as a substitute for the English World Cup team, he had to turn down due to injury.

Others

In October 2006 Anton Ferdinand was briefly arrested in connection with a brawl outside a nightclub and released after payment of a deposit. A hearing in November 2006 had no consequences.

Ferdinand racism allegations against the national team and FC Chelsea captain John Terry ended mid- July 2012 a court in an acquittal for Terry.
