Antonio Vojak

Antonio Vojak Italianized also Antonio Vogliani ( born November 19, 1904 in Pula, Austria - Hungary, † 1977) was an Italian football player and football coach.

Career

Antonio Vojak began his career in 1921 in his home town, which belonged at that time to Italy. His club Grion Pula played accordingly in the Italian league system. In 1924 the striker in the top flight level to Lazio, where he scored seven goals in nine games, but failed with the Romans in the semifinals of the U.S. Südliga Anconitana.

Vojak had thus a test of talent stored, which meant that he was bound by Juventus. The Turin had failed after the assumption of the presidency by Edoardo Agnelli twice a stated goal of the profits of the championship already in the group stage, so it was decided to strengthen the team again, among other things, the striking duo Ferenc Hirzer and Antonio Vojak. The two proved to be the desired gain and Juventus took a superior win the group and qualified for the final of the Northern League against FC Bologna. In the away game Juventus fetched thanks to two goals Hirzer a 2-2 draw, the home game ended 0-0. Thus, a play in Milan was necessary that won the Turin thanks to a goal from Vojak 2-1. The finals were clearly won against Alba Rome with a total score of 12:1.

Vojak remained three more seasons at Juventus, and scored a total of 46 goals in the championship to another title win but did not get it. 1929 was the first time a unified pan- Italian Serie A discharged and Vojak left the Turin where now his younger brother Oliviero played and moved to Napoli. In six seasons with the southerners he should become a club legend. With Attila Sallustro he formed a formidable strike partnership and with 102 goals scored he still holds the club record in Serie A. With two third places and the best up to this point in the championship final rankings were achieved.

After Vojak had already played five times in the B team, scoring three goals, he celebrated in February 1932 his debut in the senior team in a 3-0 win over Switzerland in the framework of the European Cup of the national soccer teams. However, this remained his only use in the Squadra Azzurra.

In 1935, he left Naples and initially played one season at Genoa and then the Series A climber Lucchese. His active career he finished after two seasons at third-rate Dopolavoro Empoli.

During the 1939/40 season Vojak Adolfo Baloncieri superseded as coach of SSC Napoli and managed the club until 1943. The descent to Serie B in 1942 but he could not prevent.
