Antwerp Giants is a Belgian basketball team, the supporting shareholders as " vzw " is based in Deurne ( Antwerp). The men's team of the club plays in the Belgian league and was founded in 1995 as a fusion of the hitherto most successful Belgian men's team Racing Mechelen Basket and the team Sobabee from Antwerp Racing Basket Antwerpen. After the merger so far succeeded in the men winning the national doubles in 2000 under the new name as Giants another Cup victory in 2007.

The 15malige Belgian champions Racing Mechelen in 1995 was no longer able to pay. The remains of the professional men's team went to the club Sobabee, who had formed a syndicate with Soba Kiel Antwerp, a fusion of Racing Basket Antwerpen.
