Apače

Apače ( German: Abstall ) is a place of (2002) 3745 population and since 1 March 2006 an independent municipality in the Slovene Greater Region Lower Styria ( Lower Styria ). Previously, it was several decades to the municipality Gornja Radgona ( Oberradkersburg ). The municipality borders on Austria, the Mur forms the state border. Beyond the Mur are the Austrian towns of Bad Radkersburg Mureck.

Current Mayor of Apače is Francesco Pižmoht. Before the Second World War there were in the territory of the present municipality Apače ( Abstaller field Apaško polje ) a majority German -speaking population, who fled or were expelled in 1945.
