Ariel Muzicant
Ariel Muzicant ( born February 12, 1952 in Haifa, Israel) is an Austrian entrepreneur and was 1998-2012 President of the Jewish Community Vienna ( ICG ) and 1996-1998 President of the B'nai B'rith lodge and Zwi Perez Chajes one of the initiators of the Zwi Perez Chajes school.
Background, education and career
Muzicant has lived since he was four years in Vienna and received his education at the Lycée Français de Vienne. In 1976, he completed his medical studies at the University of Vienna with a doctorate and then joined his father's real estate brokerage firm he leads today, as sole owner.
On April 21, 1998, he was elected to succeed Paul Grosz as President of the Jewish Community Vienna. In the elections of 2004 and 2008 he was confirmed in his office, and practiced there until his resignation on February 21, 2012.
He is also a board member of the Documentation Archives of the Austrian Resistance and was from 1998 to 2006 Vice- President of the European Jewish Congress.
Muzicant is a member of the SPÖ.
Controversies
Ariel Muzicant is a longtime critic Jörg Haider and the FPÖ. Especially after the government of the FPÖ in the federal government Bowl I in February 2000 Muzicant became the target of right agitators, the anti-Semitic stereotypes such as the " scheming, involved in illegal activities, Jewish businessman " use having regard to the activity Muzicants as a successful real estate agent. Shortly after Haider had challenged identified by Muzicant attacks on Jewish citizens, Muzicant presented in a live television broadcast on ORF a folder with threatening letters that he had received within weeks, followed by attempts on the part of the FPÖ, Muzicant deny credibility.
At the so-called Political Ash Wednesday 2001 in Jahnturnhalle in Ried Jörg Haider was reported in allusion to the well-known detergent brand Ariel in front of the camera: " ... the Lord Ariel Muzicant: I do not understand how if a Ariel is, so much dirt on may have; I understand not ... "to which Muzicant complained. In a study become known Anton Pelinka and Ruth Wodak recognized by the anti-Semitic content of this sentence. After Haider had withdrawn this statement and other allegations in five honorary observations that the court case could be settled out of court.
2009 came Muzicant again in the headlines. Having compared the FPÖ General Secretary Herbert Kickl with Joseph Goebbels, the Third National Council President Martin Graf ( FPÖ) referred to him indirectly as " foster-father of the anti-fascist left-wing terrorism ". Muzicant then demanded " unequivocal consequences" in the National Council.
Since 2009 Muzicant operates the website "Keller Nazis in the Freedom Party ". The term goes back to an article in the magazine back profile.
As 2012 was the ethical acceptability of religiously motivated circumcisions to underage boys ( circumcision ) in German speaking countries discussed, spoke about it in the Kleine Zeitung:

Occasionally, as in the case of roof expansion of Vienna Hotels Ambassador Muzicants activities have been recognized as a real estate developer also critical of non- right-wing side.
