Armindo Vaz d'Almeida

Armindo Vaz d' Almeida ( born 1953 ) was Prime Minister from 1995 to 1996 in São Tomé and Príncipe.

Political career

He belonged to the former single party Movimento de São Tomé e Príncipe de Libertação ( MLSTP - PSD) and was on 31 December 1995 Prime Minister when his party colleague Carlos da Graça, his deputy, he was previously resigned. He formed a coalition government of three parties and was until 19 November 1996 at the office. His government was dismissed by President Miguel Trovoada after winning mid September 1996 not expressed its confidence in the parliament and replaced by a new coalition government. His own party, the MLSTP - PSD had initiated the vote of confidence and his government accused of inefficiency and corruption. Towards the end of the year he was expelled from the party.
