Arno Geiger

Arno Geiger ( born July 22, 1968 in Bregenz, Vorarlberg) is an Austrian writer.

Life

Arno Geiger grew up in Wolfurt, Vorarlberg, on. He studied German Philology, Ancient History and Comparative Literature in Innsbruck and Vienna. In 1993 he wrote a thesis on Coping with the stranger in the German long-distance travel texts of the late Middle Ages.

From 1986 to 2002, he worked in the summer as a video technician at the Bregenz Festival. Geiger took part in Klagenfurt at the Ingeborg Bachmann Competition in 1996 and 2004. His novel The old king in his exile was nominated for the 2011 Prize of the Leipzig Book Fair. Since 1993 he works as a freelance writer in Vienna.
