Art Car

An art car is a car that is deliberately designed as a work of art. Unlike also individually designed custom cars of artistic claim is in the foreground.

Art Cars have been or will be exhibited in museums such as the Louvre in Paris, the Royal Academy of Arts in London and New York's Whitney Museum of American Art, Venice's Palazzo Grassi, Sydney's Powerhouse Museum and the Guggenheim Museums in New York and Bilbao.

Media Art Car

The Leipzig media artist Martin Höfer took up the idea of the Art Cars on again and designed a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, which took part in the entire 2012 season in the DTM at the Porsche Carrera Cup Germany. Was piloted in the Media Art Car by Christina Nielsen, who went to the start for the team Farnbacher Racing.

Film

1981 John Carpenter used in his film The Rattlesnake designed as a Art Car Cadillac Fleetwood.

Harrod Blank turned three documentaries about art cars, built themselves three such cars and founded the second largest Art Car Festival in the San Francisco Bay Area.
