Arve Opsahl

Arve Opsahl ( born May 14, 1921 in Kristiania, † April 29, 2007 in Oslo) was a Norwegian film and theater actor.

Biography

Arve Opsahl was born today's Oslo, where he spent his childhood and growing up as the son of the master blacksmith Aksel Opsahl (1886-1963) and his wife Alvilde Olsen (1889-1958) in Kristiana. He began his career in 1942 in the theater as an actor and played in numerous roles on stage. His first appearances in the theater he had at Scala Revyteater, then in Edderkoppen and at the Chat Noir and 1967 he was firmly at Oslo Nye Teater involved. From 1980, Opsahl was still freelancing, among others, in revues by Dag Frøland at the Chat Noir.

Opsahl also appeared as an actor in more than forty films and in many television productions. He was best known for his role in the 14 Norwegian films remakes of the Danish Olsen Gang. He played the lead role of gang leader Egon Olsen from the first Norwegian Olsen tape film in 1969 and in all other 13 films until 1999. Arve Opsahl also had a guest appearance on the Danish Olsen Gang as a drunken tourist Knut in the film The (probably ) last match of the Olsen Gang, together with the other Olsen Gang cast members Sverre Holm and Carsten Byhring. He is also well known for his role as the old man "Henry" the Norwegian television series Mot i Brøstet.

In December 2005, Opsahl was told by an online newspaper already dead prematurely, which in the case but was the actor with humor.

Particularly tragic and the shooting of the last Norwegian Olsen band film were ( Olsenbandens siste stikk, 1999). Arve Opsahl felt pain in his right leg during the filming of the last 14 movie, but wanted to hold out because he played the lead role of Egon. After the completion of this film was for it then amputated as a result of his legs. Then Opsahl retired finally back from working life.
