Ashikaga Yoshihide

Ashikaga Yoshihide (Japanese足 利 义 栄) (* 1538, † October 28, 1568 ) was the 14th shogun of the Ashikaga shogunate, which until September 1568 in the Muromachi period reigned briefly from February in Japan. He was the grandson of the 11th shogun, Ashikaga Yoshizumi.

Supported by Matsunaga Hisahide and followers of Miyoshi Nagayoshi, Yoshihide Seii Taishogun was, three years after the death of his predecessor and cousin, the 13th shogun, Ashikaga Yoshiteru. However, due to the political situation at that time he could not enter the capital Kyoto.

In September 1568, Oda Nobunaga marched into Kyoto Ashikaga Yoshiaki as the 15th, and sat a Shogun. Yoshihide soon died from an illness.
