Kia took the manufacturer in 1976. Again, since the Hyundai Kia Motors Group took over in 1998, Asia Motors was completely merged with Kia Motors in 1999 and the Hyundai Kia Automotive Group formed.

The main product of the brand is the Jeep -like Asia Rocsta, which was built from 1990 to 1999. After the Asian crisis in 1997, the acquisition of Kia and setting the mark Asia 's successor Retona was mainly sold as Kia Retona.
