Atargatis (Band)
Atargatis is a symphonic metal band from Germany. The singer of the group, Stephanie Lucy, is also known from the Austrian gothic metal band Dark Well.
Band History
The group was established in 1997 in Regensburg as a Death Metal band. 1999 appeared the demo Alba Gebraich that has little in common with the contemporary style of the band.
After some changes, the band recorded two demos the Accurst from the Deep and Divine Awakening. The male vocals on Divine Awakening, Stefan Fiori, the singer of Graveworm. Your song Crying Angels of Divine Awakening, they released 2004 mp3.de, where he was represented for several years continuously in the top 10. The band has finished its cooperation with mp3.de in 2006. Opened in 2005, Atargatis the Wave -Gotik-Treffen in Leipzig.
On 24 March 2006 published Atargatis, the debut album Wasteland on Massacre Records. On this album Tialupa played the violin, Moritz Neuner percussion and alto flute and as a guest vocalist Stefan Hertrich acted Darkseed. The album was recorded at Helion Studios (Munich ) and produced by Seref Alexander Badir (The Helion ) and Alexander Krull, the vocalist of Atrocity, mastered at Mastersound Studio. End of 2006, Atargatis with Crematory on tour in Germany, in early 2007 was with Illuminate.
On 16 November 2007 appeared Nova, the second album of Atargatis. Azmo guitarist left the band and was replaced by Maximilian Schulz, of the band but separated after the 2008 tour due to personal and musical reasons. At the concert at the Wave -Gotik-Treffen 2009 helped from the former guitarist Azmo. On June 21, 2009 Atargatis occupied the guitar post with Artur Vladinovskij from Latvia.
Style
The band's name comes from the Syrian fertility and mother goddess Atargatis. The lyrics are all written by singer Stephanie Lucy. The female vocals alternate with guttural male vocals.
