Athletissima

The Athlétissima is held annually international athletics meeting in Lausanne. It is part of the IAAF Diamond League IAAF.

On 11 July 2006, Liu Xiang (China) in Lausanne a new world record in the 110 m hurdles. He graduated from the Forest hurdle in 12.88 s in Liu's race record and the American Dominique Arnold undercut with a time of 12.90 s the old mark of 12.91 s, who had achieved both Liu Xiang and Colin Jackson (Great Britain ). For some time now the new record holder Dayron Robles, however, the Cubans, who 's covered the distance at the 2008 Olympic Games in 12.87, improving on the kept up by him for a race in Ostrava record of Xiang again.

Other now-defunct records are 4.93 m by Jelena Isinbayeva (Russia) in the pole vault (2005) and the 9.85 s Leroy Burrell (USA) over 100 meters, set in 1994.
