Prefontaine Classic

The Prefontaine Classic (short: Preclassic ) is a track and field meet, the University of Oregon in Eugene is held annually in Hayward Field Stadium. It is one of the most important track and field events in the United States and belongs since 2010 to the international competition series of the IAAF Diamond League.

The event is named after the late 1975 middle and long distance runner Steve Prefontaine.
