DN Galan

The DN Galan is held annually international athletics meeting in Stockholm. The sports festival has been held since 1967 and is one of the biggest sporting events in Sweden. It is part of the IAAF Diamond League, and will be held in the Olympic Stadium.

World Records

In the past, at the DN Galan some world records, especially on the middle and long distances, erected. However, none of them has more inventory.

Last abolished this Wilson Kipketer (Denmark). On July 7, 1997, he ran the 800 meters, a time of 1:41,73 min. Kipketer then improved the world record twice more themselves as the June 5, 1993 Richard Chelimo (Kenya ) at the DN Galan won the 10,000 meters in 27:07,91 min, he was only the third African which a world record over this distance succeeded. In the women's Ingrid Kristiansen (Norway ) succeeded on 5 August 1986, a new world record in the 5,000 meters. She graduated from the twelve and a half laps in 14:37,33 min.

The only world record, which was set up about no running track, succeeded the Swede Patrik Sjöberg in the high jump. On June 30, 1987, he jumped 2.42 m. Only Javier Sotomayor (Cuba) could surpass this level so far.
