ATI Rage
Rage is the name of the company ATI Technologies for its first 3D graphics chips.
History
ATI had with these chips on the market in the gaming graphics cards only moderate success and was occasionally plagued by massive driver problems. Equipped with these chips, cards, however, were widely used in SOHO, as they were available at low cost and in most cases had a very good analog signal quality. In particular, as onboard graphics of server motherboards were chips in the band's family, including due to the low demands on the power supply, still widely used until 2007. In the meantime, however, they were of a pure 2D chip, the ES1000, detached.
ATI Rage used the name for a variety of chips that came on various graphics cards to use.
The published in April 1999 Rage 128 Pro was already AFR fit, and on the Rage Fury MAXX came two of the chips used.
The originally planned as Rage 6 chip was released as the ATI Radeon 7000 and ushered in a new generation.
