Atlético Clube de Portugal

The Atlético Clube de Portugal is a sports club from the district Alcantara of the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The first football team of the club has been playing his rise in the 2011/2012 season in the second division of Portugal, the Segunda Liga. Other sports include basketball ( " Segunda Divisão " ) and futsal, for which they were one of the pioneers in Portugal.

History

The club was founded on 18 September 1942 as result of the merger of the two clubs União Foot -ball Lisboa and Carcavelinhos Futebol Clube Atlético Clube de Portugal as.

The club has played 24 seasons in the top division of the country, most recently 1976/77. The best rankings succeeded Atlético CP in the seasons 1943/44 and 1949/50, each with the third. The club was often represented in the Portuguese Cup competition, but could never win the Cup so far. Most of the time the club played in the third division, 35 seasons, these were far and six in the fourth division.
