Aubiet

Aubiet is a commune with 1127 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Gers in the southern French region of Midi -Pyrenees. Historically, the place is part of the former province of Gascony and the former Vice- county Fézensaguet. Today, the community is part of the arrondissement and canton Also Gimont.

Geography

Aubiet is located about 16 kilometers west of Auch and the most southern part of the Camino de Santiago, Via Tolosana. Through the village, the route national 124 and the railway line from Saint -Agne for Also ( with train station in Aubiet ).

History

Aubiet was founded in the 10th or 11th century.
