Views of the Australian Alps
The term Australian Alps (English Australian Alps, Snowy Mountains ) is a series of mountain ranges located in the hinterland of south-eastern Australia. In the Australian Alps, which are a part of the Great Dividing Range, you will find up to 2228 m the highest mountain peaks of the Australian mainland.
These mountains are important as a recreational area and for the water intake. Several national parks are located in the region. The only ski resorts in Australia are also the only inhabited areas in the Australian Alps.
