Mount Hotham is a mountain of volcanic origin in Victoria, Australia. Mount Hotham Village and Mount Hotham Ski Resort are located on the mountain. The mountain is located approximately 357 kilometers by road north-east of Melbourne, 746 km from Sydney and 997 kilometers from Adelaide. The Mount Hotham reached a peak altitude of 1861 meters above sea level. The village of Mount Hotham is located at 1750 meters, making it the second highest holiday village in Australia after Charlotte Pass Village.

Winter sports

The Mount Hotham holds the annual records of the highest snowfall in Victoria in recent years. The skiing takes place on one side of the great valley that connects the area with the Bogong High Plains.

The Mount Hotham ski area covers 3.2 square kilometers with 35 kilometers of ski runs and 13 lifts. The longest ski tracks is 2.5 km long at Mount Hotham. The winter sports area has ski slopes for skis and snowboards that are suitable to 20% for beginners, 40 % for the experienced and 40% advanced. In the field, the most difficult downhill course Australia is at the Mary 's Slide.
