Azim Isabekov

Asim Beischenbajewitsch Issabekow ( born April 4, 1960 in Arashan, Alamudunski Rajon, Location Tschüi ) is a Kyrgyz politician. It was from January to March 2007 Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan.

Asim Issabekow worked from 1980 to 1984 as a mechanic and a tractor in the state farm " Strelnikowa ". From 1984 to 1986 he was employed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Soviet Union. In addition to these activities, he completed a business degree from the Kyrgyz State National University, from which he graduated in 1986.

In 1986 and 1987 he held various posts in the Komsomol, the Soviet Union's state youth organization. From 1988 to 1989 he was instructor and department head at the Executive Committee of the Soviets of Alamudunski Rajon. 1989 to 1992 he was party secretary and deputy director of the state farm " Tash Moinok ". 1992 to 1993 he headed the administration of the Alamudunski Rajons. After that he was temporarily working in the private sector. 1996 rose Issabekow on the management of the site Tschüi in which he held until 2001 various items, most recently the Deputy Executive Director.

From 2001 to 2002 he worked on the staff of the Kyrgyz Prime Minister, where he was responsible for the contact and cooperation among the self-governing bodies at regional and local levels. From 2002 to 2004 he was chairman of the Kyrgyz State Fund for Economic Development.

From March to September 2005 launched Minister Issabekow as the administrative apparatus of the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan. In October 2005 he was appointed advisor to the Kyrgyz President. From 21 November 2005 to 10 May 2006, he was head of department and deputy director of the presidential office of Kyrgyzstan. Then he entered again into the cabinet and was confirmed on 26 June 2006 in the post of Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Processing Industry.

On 29 January 2007 he was elected by Parliament as Prime Minister after the current incumbent Felix Kulow, which was proposed for the post by President Kurmanbek Bakiyev again, had twice missed the necessary majority of votes. Issabekow was seen as a compromise candidate in the dispute between the president and parliament. To defuse the still smoldering conflict, Issabekow was released on March 29 by President Bakiyev. He was replaced by the former opposition politician Almazbek Atambayev.
