Baddeley Devesi

Sir Baddeley Devesi GCMG GCVO ( born October 16, 1941 in Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands, † 16 February 2012) was a politician of the Solomon Islands, who was among other things, 1978-1988 first Governor General of the Solomon Islands.

Life

Baddeley Devesi was one of the leaders of the movement, which called for the independence of the British protectorate, and criticized by the granting of internal autonomy in 1976, in particular the lack of preparation of the Granting of Independence of Great Britain, which led to tensions and political crises.
