Banaszki

Banaszki ( German Good Banaskeim or Bannaskeim ) is a village in Poland, in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in the community Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ).

Geography

Geographical Location

The village is located about six kilometers northwest of Kętrzyn and about 25 kilometers south of the border with the Kaliningrad Oblast.

History

The village was mentioned in 1339 as item dedimus Beynassye in campo Glysdelauks. The name means " clay- field " ( derivative of Old Prussian glizdainis Lauks ). On June 24, 1339 Grand Master Dietrich von Altenburg gave the brothers Beynassye and Scodayko four hooves country and this laid the foundations for the present village. From the name Beynassye also the name of the village derives originally Beneskaym and later Bannaskeim was. Bannaskeim was long Vorwerk of Mickelnick, which was located since 1750 in the family of Klingsporn .. but Evidence of this is the horse of Johann Kling spur that this was hewn out of granite and which was erected by his grandchildren here, after which the other goods after the great tribunal against the family of Klingsporn were converted into domains. Therefore, the settlement developed very slowly and grew over the Vorwerk hardly beyond. In the 19th century the family Knoop was owner of the place. Also in the 1920s, the village was still owned by the Knoop and had an area of 180 ha After the Second World War, a state farm was in place worked. 1973 Banaszki was assigned to the mayor's office Gromki. In an administrative reform of the place came 1975 on the Olsztyn Voivodeship and remained there until its dissolution in 1999.

Population Development

1785 there was a place in the Vorwerk and 15 houses. The number of houses was reduced to 1817 to five.

Culture and sights

Worth seeing is the manor house, which was built in the early 20th century. On the ridge there is a lantern with a cover in the form of a spiked helmet.

Before the mansion is an old oak tree, which was declared a natural monument.
