Kwiedzina

Kwiedzina ( German Queden ) is a village in Poland in the Warmia - Mazury. The place is part of the municipality Ketrzyn ( Rastenburg ) in the powiat Kętrzyński.

History

1342 received the four men Warpun, Wysnor, Meirun and Bartold by Ludolf König 33 Wloka country for use. With the installation of a village according to Kulm law at this point the foundation for today's Kwiedzina was laid. A mill that existed in the village, was transferred in 1492 from the procurator catch Petersburg Jordan of Berehenrode to a Matzke.

In 1785 there were nine houses in Queden. If a new installation from the year 1817, the number of residential buildings had not changed and there were 82 inhabitants counted. At the end of the Second World War, the area was occupied by the Red Army and came in the wake of Poland. 1970 were counted 50 inhabitants. After the dissolution of Gromadas Kwiedzina from 1973 was part of the Schulz Office ( sołectwo ) Pożarki ( Pohiebels ) in the municipality Kętrzyn.

Kwiedzina is located on the Province Road 592, which crosses the northwest after about five kilometers Kętrzyn. In the south-east or south, the road leads after about 20 kilometers through Giżycko ( Lötzen ).

The nearest railway station is in Kętrzyn, where there are direct connections to Olsztyn ( Olsztyn ) and poses.

The nearest international airport is Kaliningrad, which is about 100 kilometers northwest located on Russian territory. The nearest international airport on Polish territory is about 200 kilometers west location Lech Walesa Airport, Gdansk.
