Barbara Potter

Barbara Potter ( born October 22, 1961 in Woodbury, Connecticut) is an American former tennis player.

Career

During her tennis career, Potter won five WTA singles titles and eighteen WTA doubles title. Three times reached a final of a Grand Slam tournament, she lost respectively. In 1982, she lost the women's doubles of the U.S. Open on the side of double partner Sharon Walsh against the pairing Rosie Casals / Wendy Turnbull 4:6, 4:6, and the final of the mixed doubles at the side of Ferdi Taygan against the mating Anne Smith / Kevin Curren 7-6, 6-7. 6:7. In 1983, she also lost the final of the mixed doubles of the U.S. Open. This time also on the side of Ferdi Taygan against the mating Elizabeth Smylie / John Fitzgerald 6:3, 3:6, 4:6.
