Bäst of a best-of compilation of the German punk rock band Die Ärzte. The album was released on October 6, 2006.
Background
The album was released - each packaged in an ornate steel box - as a double CD and limited edition 5-fold vinyl album. In a steel box -shaped ä omission is stamped. By " re-sorting " of the CD sleeves of LPs or the "ä " appears either red, blue, white, yellow, green or black by the omission.
On the first CD are - in chronological order -. Every 23 singles the band since 1993 As with curd / head over to hell and come back / The banana two double A-side singles are represented, the result is 25 tracks. Quark is the only track that is not contained in the ( textually modified ) single version, but in the album version.
On the second CD are - except for Zusamm'fassung (Extended 1-13) also in chronological order - a selection of 25 B-sides since 1993 Each of the two CDs has a playing time of almost 90 minutes.. This was achieved by an extreme Maximization of the track density of the audio CD, however, causes problems when playing some CD players older design.
On the vinyl version, the B-sides are stylishly on the B side of the LP, while the singles found a place on the A-side. Within this sort ( A-/B-Seiten ) the tracks are, however, as with the CD version, in chronological order.
New or unreleased recordings are not included. All titles were subjected to a remastering. Reason for the publication of the best-of compilation is the outgoing distribution contract with the record company Universal Records.
The album comes with a booklet in which all singles by Farin Urlaub, Bela B. and Rodrigo González and numerous companions were commented. The B-sides were not commented on.
On 20 October 2006, the album debuted in Austria and in Germany directly to place one of the official album charts. In Switzerland, the album debuted at # 4.
Worldwide, the compilation sold over 175,000 times.
