Batagay-Alyta

Batagai - Alyta (Russian Батагай - Алыта; Yakut Баатаҕай Алыыта; unofficially after the nearby river also Sakkyryr, Саккырыр ) is a village ( selo ) in the Republic of Sakha ( Yakutia) in Russia with 1832 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The place is located almost 650 km as the crow north of the capital Yakutsk Republic on the eastern flank of the Verkhoyansk Mountains. It is located a few miles from the left bank of Ulachan - Sakkyryr, a left tributary of the left Jana influx Bytantai.

Batagai - Alyta is the administrative center of Ulus - Eweno Bytantaiski and seat and only town in the rural community ( selskoje posselenije ) Tjugessirski Nasleg.

History

The village was founded in 1936 as the administrative seat for the 1931 created Sakkyryrski rayon. With resolution of the Rajons 1963 it lost its administrative function, was with his above-average share of Evens of over 30% of the population created until 1989, today's Ulus was carved out from the Werchojanski ulus.

Traffic

Batagai - Alyta is not connected to the fixed line network. Winter ski tracks leading eastward into the 150 km distant Verkhoyansk on the Yana and the road continues Batagai, and also down by 30 km east of Batagai - Alyta running valley of Bytantai to Jana. In a southwesterly direction a hard drive- piste route the Verkhoyansk Mountains in the valley of the Sobolooch - Majan and this down to Lena below Shigansk.
