Bayshore Gardens is a census -designated place (CDP ) in Manatee County in the U.S. state of Florida with 16,323 inhabitants ( 2010).

Geography

Bayshore Gardens is located on the Sarasota Bay, a bay on the Gulf of Mexico. The CDP is located approximately 10 km south of Bradenton and about 70 km south of Tampa. He is from the Tamiami Trail ( U.S. 41 ) and Florida State Road 70 crosses or touches.

Demographics

According to the 2010 census, the then 16,323 inhabitants distributed to 9,744 households. The population density was 1774.2 inh. / Km ². 81.0 % of the population were white, 7.4% African American, 0.5% Native American and 1.1% Asian Americans. 7.3% were members of other ethnic groups and 2.8% in different ethnic groups. 19.0 % of the population were Hispanic or Latino.

In 2010, children under the age of 18 and 43.3 % of all households lived in 22.0 % of all households with persons at least 65 years. 53.6 % of households were family households (consisting of married couples with or without offspring or a parent with offspring ). The average size of a household was 2.16 persons and the average family size is 2.82 people.

20.8% of the population were younger than 20 years, 22.1% were 20-39 years old, 24.4% were 40-59 years old and 32.6 % were at least 60 years old. The median age was 46 years. 47.1 % of the population were male and 52.9 % female.

The average annual income was $ 32,864, while 22.7 % of the population lived below the poverty line.

In 2000, English was the mother tongue of 90.73 % of the population spoke Spanish 7.31% and 1.96% had a different mother tongue.

Economy

The main employment sectors are: education, health and social services: (16.5%), trade / retail ( 16.5% ), industrial production ( 15.9% ), construction ( 10.1%).
