Bayside (Band)

Bayside is an American alternative rock group was formed in 2000 in Long Iceland.

History

Bayside was written during the winter of 2000 in Long Iceland, New York. Under the influences of bands like Smoking Popes, The Cure, The Smiths and Nirvana, they developed their own style, which expresses itself primarily through meaningful lyrics and powerful guitar sounds. The band went on tour and the first EP Long Stories Short was released in 2001 under the indie label Dying Wish Records.

In 2003, the second studio album Split, which Bayside along with the band name Poppunk recorded Taken. In the following year appeared the next album Sirens and Condolences, now the Bayside had changed the label, and was now under contract with Victory Records. Not only the record label but also the members of the band changed, Jim Mitchell ( drums) was replaced by John " Beatz " Holohan and in place of Andrew Elder tree (bass ) joined Nick Ghanbarian. Singer Anthony Raneri and guitarist Jack O'Shea remained in the band.

A longer tour was followed by the band in their own words to a musical unit together grew. Consequently, it was decided to take the band name Bayside for the next album, as the band that was now what they wanted to achieve. After the release of the album Bayside the band went on the Never Sleep Again tour with bands Aiden, Hawthorne Heights and Silverstein.

On the morning of 31 October 2005, the band was on his way to the next gig in Salt Lake City. While driving the van, in which there was the whole band through ice into a skid and overturned came. Drummer John " Beatz " Holohan came in the accident, bassist Nick Ghanbarian was seriously injured. The remaining occupants escaped with minor injuries.

After Bayside had initially left the tour, vocalist Anthony Raneri and guitarist Jack O'Shea decided to appear again in honor of her late drummer. They played the last concert of the tour at the House of Blues in Chicago as an acoustic duo, without bass and drums. The concert was recorded and included as bonus the Acoustic album on DVD. The album was released in February 2006 and contains the song winter, which is a memorial song for the late John Holohan.

After bassist Ghanbarian had recovered and was with Chris Guglielmo found a successor for Holohan, the band began working on their next album in 2006 The Walking Wounded, which was released on 6 February 2007 and 4th place in the " Best Independent Album " - Charts. Mid-2008, the album was released with an additional bonus DVD as " Gold Edition" again, which contains a documentary about the band some new acoustic recordings and a tour film.

In July / August 2008, the band went as support along with Alkaline Trio on tour and began work on the new studio album " Shudder ", which after the first single "No One Understands " (release date: September 9, 2008) on September 30, appeared in 2008 under Victory Records. At the same time, a live album was released, which contains recordings of a concert for the " Bayside Social Club " in New York, which took place on August 17, 2008 - Hence the title " Live at the Bayside Social Club ".
