Beaumaris (Victoria)

Beaumaris is a suburb of Melbourne. It is located about 20 km southeast of the city center and is situated directly on Port Phillip. The district is named after the village in Wales (see Beaumaris (Wales)). 2006, the district of over 12,000 inhabitants.

The first post office was established in March 1868 in the area, however, already closed a month later, and in 1925 reopened. From 1889 to 1914 reversed a horse-drawn tramway between Beaumaris and Melbourne.
